Danterr’s Closed Cell Backing Rod is a high-performance polyethylene foam joint filler designed to optimise sealant application in construction joints. Manufactured from resilient closed cell foam with a density of approximately 33–35 kg/m³, it provides excellent dimensional stability, superior rebound recovery of up to 95%, and reliable resistance to compression with values under 335 kPa. Its non-toxic, odourless composition ensures safe handling, while the rot-proof structure guarantees long-term durability even in harsh conditions.
Engineered to prevent three-sided adhesion and minimise sealant waste, the rod maintains a consistent joint profile and withstands service temperatures ranging from −40 °C to +90 °C. With a low compression set of 16–25% and water absorption below 2% after prolonged exposure, it is particularly effective in environments subject to moisture. Resistant to water, oils, hydrocarbons, and most common construction chemicals, Danterr’s Closed Cell Backing Rod is ideal for horizontal and vertical joints in concrete, masonry, façades, wall assemblies, windows, and general draft proofing applications.
