In the past, someone at a site would have to individually cap each exposed rebar. Yes, the steel capped individual protection points are still available, and are still relevant for certain jobs. But now employers can protect their employees in a much more efficient and effective fashion. Think about 300 exposed rebar protruding towards the sky. Previously 300 individual protection points would have to be purchased, and one at a time placed on each rebar. At a cost of between $7 and $8 per cap. Not only was this an expensive exercise, but the simple time it took to apply each individual protection cap was a necessary, but very long process. Now rebars that are in a line – for example, five rebars spaced 200mm apart, can be covered by one strip of our new Nevosafe – Danterr rebar capping system. That means it will now take (using the 200mm spacings as an example) just 1/5th of the time to cap any given number of exposed rebar. For a 1m strip, the cost is now (on average) half of what it was to individually cap each rebar. The financial savings, together with the efficiency of application indeed make the Nevosafe – Danterr rebar capping system a must for any project.

Barangaroo in Sydney was a 22-hectare, $6 billion-dollar project; Sydney’s largest urban renewal project since the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Completed by Lend Lease, this project benefitted from the use of the Nevosafe – Danterr rebar capping system. Site engineer Dean Scerri reported back that ‘Nevosafe is a great product that has worked really well on the Jumpform at Barangaroo. They are robust and much more difficult to misplace in comparison to individual bar cap.’
